Become a Certified Field Associate (CFA)

Certified is a full-service, national field organization providing services including Auditing and Mystery Shopping (excluding Nevada), In-store Merchandising, In-theatre Checking and Material Installation, and many other on-site services. Certified engages independent contractors (Certified Field Associates) to conduct all of the below services in retail outlets and theatres except for mystery shopping and auditing in Nevada.

There is no charge to register as an independent contractor with Certified and no fees are ever charged after you register. Additionally, Certified values your privacy, and does not sell or give any CFA information to any other business entity. The following are some of the services conducted by Certified Field Associates:

Mystery Shopping Mystery shopping is an undercover evaluation of an establishment's service. Specific programs include retail stores, restaurants, movie theatres, banks, and video stores.
Merchandising Tasks Include: Display set up and maintenance Restock and replenish plan-o-gram Product cut in Out-of-stock reporting Reorder and returns processing Assembly and placement point-of-purchase material Inventory work Audit and market research services.

Retail Auditing Retail auditing involves the observation of products, promotional materials, fixtures, etc. at retail locations such as department stores and media stores.

Theatre Checks: These assignments fall primarily on Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Trailer Checks: Present your Letter of Authorization to theatre management to watch and record all trailers on all screens shown prior to the assigned feature.

Seat Counts: Present your Letter of Authorization to theatre management to count the seats (not patrons!) in each auditorium showing the assigned feature.

Open Checks: Present your Letter of Authorization to theatre management to count the patrons attending the showtimes of the assigned feature, and collecting box office information at the end of the day.

Blind Checks: Covertly counting patrons attending all show times of the assigned feature on the assigned day.Theatrical Promotional Material Installation

Set up/Install standees, banners, window clings, and one-sheets (posters)

Theatre Lobby and On-Screen Ad Checks Involves checking the ads prior to the trailers, and checking for materials in the lobby and throughout the theatre.

Installation assignments include setup of promotional materials including standees, one-sheets, banners, window clings, etc.

Qualifications

Independent Contractors must be at least 18 years of age and will conduct services as self-employed. They must be dependable, have good communication skills, and have reliable transportation. Some assignments involve more physical effort than others. With a username and password, Certified Field Associates are able to request and accept assignments online.

Scam Characteristics:

At any given time, millions of dollars worth of merchandise is bought and sold through online auctions and classified ads. While the vast majority of sellers are legitimate, cybercriminals have begun using these popular methods of commerce to steal the personal and financial information of people looking to find a great deal.

Here's how it works: The thief sets up a fraudulent auction for a product they do not actually have in stock. Once the auction has ended and the buyer has paid, the thief will use a stolen credit card to purchase an identical item from a retailer or manufacturer and have it shipped directly to the purchaser. The thief is out nothing (remember, they used a stolen credit card) and now they have your credit card information.

The following are steps you can take to help avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

• Never provide financial information directly to the seller. Use a reputable third party payment service such as PayPal that acts as an intermediary and offers some kind of buyer's protection.

• When using online auction sites, check each seller's rating and feedback, looking closely at sales and feedback posting dates. Try to avoid sellers with 100% positive feedback and a low total number of posts around the same date and time. This may be an indication that the seller is using fake usernames and posting fraudulent feedback to boost their approval ratings.

• If, after purchasing from an independent seller, you receive a shipment from someone other than the seller you purchased from, contact the sender directly to verify the account used for the purchase belongs to you. If the card number does not match, contact the auction site administrator to notify them of the potentially fraudulent transaction.

• If you are paying cash, take possession of the item immediately. Do not send cash to have an item shipped to you.

Successful scammers often use the names of reputable companies to build confidence and increase the likelihood of exploiting a victim. Currently, criminals are invoking the name of the Better Business Bureau (BBB), one of the most trusted organizations in the country. What makes this scam especially effective is they contact the victim using the actual names of real BBB employees whose bios are available on the BBB's own website.

Here's how the scam works:

A victim will receive a phone call or email from someone at the BBB congratulating them on winning millions of dollars in a lottery or contest. The catch? They need you to wire thousands of dollars to cover taxes and fees in order to claim the prize.

The BBB never runs contests or lotteries, but that hasn't stopped thieves from stealing tens of thousands of dollars from unsuspecting victims. One elderly man even handed over $80,000 to criminals before figuring out that the whole thing was a con.

The following are steps you can take to help avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

• Always check the legitimacy of every offer/company by contacting the organization at a number or email address published in the yellow pages or on a verified website.

• Never transfer money to a company that contacts you through an unsolicited phone call or email.

• Never pay taxes or fees for a prize directly to the prize giver. Any contest where you are required to pay taxes and fees up front is almost certainly a scam.

• If you think something's to good to be true, conduct an Internet search. Chances are others have received similar phone calls and emails.

Not all work at home programs require you to make an investment before giving you a job. Work at home can include handing out samples, or get paid to Read E-mails, or get Paid to blog. The next couple of posts on this forum will be free programs that you can use to make money at home or Work at Home.
