Got Laid Off? Work at Home?

My father got laid off from his job on Friday. He called and asked what he could do from home to replace his income. Unfortunately, I had to tell him I didn't have anything for him.

Earning extra money online is one thing, replacing the salary of a manager in the Auto industry is a totally different story. I know that I have not found the prize winning program that will allow me to quit my day job and start earning my income at home.

Work at home sounds like a wonderful thing. No more stress, no more having to leave your house. What a great life. But I went to the doctor on Thursday and he told me that I needed to reduce my stress. I said "take me out on disability, that is where all my stress exists". He laughed at me. He told me that we all blame work as our major stress, but not working will not reduce my stress, it might make it worse. So here I am at work as usual doing my best.

If you are reading this blog, you want to work at home. If you have had any success with working at home and make a good income with the program, please let me know what the program is, until then, my search continues and I will just support and love my dad while he looks for something new.

Earn Money Re-Shipping (Forwarding) Packages

I received an e-mail recently offering to pay me to receive packages at my home and then forward them to an address that will be provide to me via e-mail, along with any other instructions. These packages are usually forwarded to a P.O. Box.

After the check cashing diabolical earlier this year, I thought this offer need some research before I committed to it. If you are considering Earning Money At Home Forwarding Packages, please read this article in its entirety before you continue, it could mean your freedom.

Forwarding packages to earn money from home is a scam. You will not be working UPS, FedEx or DHL. This is not the type of scam where you tried a work at home opportunity and could not make money so now we are calling it a scam. This is not one of those misrepresenting rebate processing, typing, data entry or survey lists. As a matter of fact you can start this type of
work at home without any investiment except for your time. This is the type of scam were will not only lose money, because they never pay you, but you may also end up losing your freedom.

Re-shipping also known as "package forwarding" usually starts with an emailed ob offer. These "employers" will ask you to sign a phony contracts and other documentation making them appear legitimate and since it costs you nothing ito start it is easy to be taken in.

Some may even offer you references. Once they succeed in giving you a sense of security or make you feel like you have nothing to lose, the packages are shipped to your home at no cost to you. You are provided with instructions to reship the packages to another address, usually a PO Box. Once you have reshipped the package you respond to the e-mail instructions and they send
you a check.

Sounds perfect, the easiest work at home job on the market, right. Well here is what they do not tell you.

Basically this scam plays into identity theft. Someone steals someone credit card or personal information they begin ordering a bunch of items on the Internet or from catalogs and has it shipped to your house. Having it shipped to their house will only get them caught. I didn't say they were dumb criminals. Then without you knowing it you start forward the now stolen
merchandise to the PO Box, which is untraceable. So when the authorities start investigating the theft of the credit card or the identiy the only address and/or name they have is yours. Now you have spent your time forwarding the packages, you have not been paid and you an accessory to a crime.

Can you Make Money Online with Lawn Chair Millionaire

The question that many have about the new lawn chair millionaire program is, "Does it really work?"

The answer to this question is yes and no. I filled out the form on the website and verifying through a code via email. Then I was immediately hit was an offer to join this program or I would lose my position in the moneyline pools.

The truth, as I learned is that the moneyline pool only pays on the members that join that day, not on people that are already members. The next surprise for me was that the commissions are paid out over 3 months.

So here is the summary:

I joined and received $75 in moneyline commissions, but this is split over a 3 months ($25 a month for three months).

The problem is that I spent $29.99 for my monthly dues and $49.99 as a one-time setup fee. So I am $80 and only made $75 which it will take me 3 months to get all of. To make it worse, I need to stay in the program for three months in order to get the $75 at $29.99 a month after the initial $80 investment. So I am actually spending $140 to make $75. Did I explain that right?

The next surprise was that in order to receive my commission I needed the company's debit card. If I don't sponsored anyone then the debit card will cost $39.99. So now I have spent $140 to earn $75 and I have to pay an additional $39.99 to get the money out, making my earnings only $30. Are you following this?

Here is where people are making their money. If you sponsor people, you will receive $15 per active member that you personally refer per month. If you are willing to work and recruit, this program can make you money. If you don't think that you can refer people, it is not worth the money. I am not giving an link to the site because I don't think it will provide a good source of income for people.

CNN Reports on Making Extra Money

CNN did a special report on Friday on ways that households can make extra money. The full story is here http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/personal/11/07/tf.make.extra.money/index.html. Here is a quick summary of their suggestions for making Extra Money:

1. Become a focus group participant - I have listed a number of survey sites that will pay you for your opinion and are free to join. If you are interested, look at some of my previous posts.
2. Use your blog - If you have a blog and you need extra money, it is free to add ads to your site and add a new level of revenue.
3. Sell the stuff you no longer want - this references auction sites and craigslist. You would not believe sometimes how much people are will to spending for stuff you no longer want.
4. Make money with you hobbies - there are sites like Etsey that allow you to create an online store of the crafts that you do from home. You are already enjoying it, why not make a profit too.
5. Host a bake sale - this one seems a little flaky to me, but I guess it is possible.
6. Shop and sell - If you have out Outlet store or warehouse store near you, buy something at a discounted price and then try reselling it. Even if you only make 2 or 3 dollars, it will all add up over time.

and number 7 this one is my favorite!

7. Pet sit - you would be amazed at how much people are will to spend to keep their pets happy and feeling loved when they can't be around.

This is a quick summary and my view of the article, if you wish to read the full article, see the link above and good luck.

Auto-Bux/Topinstant Scams

Auto-Bux was shut down for not paying their members and now a new site is up that has the same web design and is owned by the same people and promising to do the same thing. The new site is Topinstant.com. It is a scam, do not invest money into it, you will lose your money. It is a HYIP (High Yield Investment Program) which are often considered to be an pyramid scheme.

Your account will show your earnings so you will think that you are doing well, but when you request payout, that is it. The money never comes.

Avoid this program.

LutLot replacement for Ebay to Make Money Online

The owners of ClixSense (ClixSense is a paid to surf site, you can ready more about them here, http://www.wahjs123.com/2007/10/clixsense.html) have opened a new wholesale auction site. I don't know if Lutlot will replace e-bay as a leading online auction house to allow people to make money selling their items, but I can tell you that there a number of reasons why LutLot is better.

The first reason is that there is a $1.00 listing fee, that is all that you will ever pay, doesn't matter how much your item sells for. The second reason and I think this is pretty neat, LutLot has a store front also so you can sell your items online or at a store. The store is located in Clarksville, TN. Here is some information about them.

Q: What do you liquidate?
A: We purchase overstock, shelf pulls, returns, and salvage items from the major retailers in large quantities. In turn, we then repackage the items into smaller lots, or even individual items, so they can be resold to the general public at discount prices. Sales of the merchandise usually begins bidding at only $1.00 with No reserve price set, or a "buy now" format.

Q: Can anyone sell merchandise on LutLot.com?
A: Yes. As long as you are selling tangible merchandise at a reasonable price. It's a sad day when you visit on online auction only to find better prices at your local department store - online auctions should be a place where deals are found. No downloads, e-books, memberships or other digitized type products can be sold on the website.

Q: What are the fees to list products for sale?
A: The listing fee is only $1.00 per listing with no final value fees, or any other hidden fees.

Q: What makes LutLot Auctions different from other auction sites?
A: ClixSense staff prides itself on outstanding customer service and superior performance. That, combined with low fixed price listing fees, below wholesale products, and auction listings that are displayed in expiring order (with no upgrade options) sets us apart from the others.

Q: How do I get to the website?
A: Visit the website here: http://www.lutlot.com

Use Squidoo to Advertise Your Blog

You can use Squidoo to advertise your blog, get traffic and maybe even earn a little bit of extra money. Here is what I found:

On Squidoo you create a Lens which is based on a blog article. You can link your blog directly to the Lens so when you make a new post on your blog, the lens is automatically updated.

SO, WHAT'S A LENS?

A lens is one person's view on a topic that matters to her. It's an easy-to-build, single web page that can point to blogs, favorite links, RSS feeds, Flickr photos, Google maps, your eBay auctions, CafePress designs, Amazon books or music, and oh so much more. That way, when someone is looking for recommended information, fast, your lens gets him started and sends him off in the right direction.

Build one lens, build a hundred. It's fast, fun, and free. (And you could earn a royalty from each one--for you or for charity).

WHO SHOULD BUILD A LENS?

You should, if you...

1. ...have a Web site and want more ways for people to discover it. A lens is another signpost online that can point people your way.

2. ...have a blog, a lens is a great way to highlight your best posts, to feature a commented version of your blogroll, and to point to the products and services that you write about, read about, enjoy, or want to see succeed. A lens will allow you and your blog to have a bigger share of the commentary and influence on your topic of choice.

3. ...are a yo-yo expert, your lens could be nothing but links to tricks. You'd rank your favorite 100 tricks and point, one by one, to the best examples of those tricks on the Web. And maybe you'd point to Infinite Illusions, the online yo-yo store.

4. ...are a nonprofit or charity (say, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) you could invite all 45,000 of your most important donors to build sites on their favorite topics. The invitation would set the default royalty cash flow to "Donate my royalties to JDRF." If each lens generated as little as $2 a day, that'd be a whole bunch of money earned for the charity. You'd also earn a bounty on every successful lensmaster you brought in.

5. ...are a newshound, a lens allows you to highlight important mainstream and non-mainstream stories for your readers. And if you go on vacation, RSS feeds can automatically update your lens with select news stories.

6. ...are a podcaster, you should definitely have a lens. It would list the details of your podcasts, point to transcripts that some fan had posted, point to your six most recent podcasts, and include the RSS for subscribing to the podcast. The lens would also have a set of links for getting started with podcasting and getting a podcast reader

7. ...are a fan, a lens lets you share your personal take on the object of your affections—without the grind of manual updates. Automatic feeds could add current sports scores and headlines, music news and iTune releases and more.

8. ...are an author, your lens could include links to all your books on Amazon. You could include links to other authors you admire. And an RSS feed from a Technorati search, showing surfers the recent blogs that have mentioned you. And links to conferences where you're speaking, and perhaps a top-ten list of the best ways to understand your writing. You could even have a box pointing to your best (and worst?) reviews.

9. ...are an entrepreneur, your lens on a popular topic could generate two or five or twenty dollars a day in clickthrough and affiliate income. Which doesn't sound like much, until you start thinking like an eBay PowerSeller and build twenty or even fifty lenses on a variety of topics. Did you know that 750,000 people make a full- or part-time living on eBay now? The same effect will probably happen with lenses

10. ... are a person (and you are), you should have a lens about...you. A lens that lists your blog and recent posts and your bio and work history and your Amazon wish list and your Flickr account and whatever you want the public to know about you. Would you hire someone if she didn't have a lens?

How can I make more money?

Every lens carries Google AdSense ads. Those are used to generate royalties for the whole co-op (ie, everyone gets a cut). If you want to increase your direct royalties, though, you should consider adding commercial modules that the visitors to your lenses will appreciate. Our top moneymaker modules include: Amazon, eBay, and CafePress. Every single one of these modules generates directly attributable revenue for your lens, and we pay a royalty to you or to your chosen charity based on that income.
Build good lenses, feature great stuff, share your lenses as much as possible, and earn more royalties.

3 Great Jobs for Stay at Home Moms

I found this great article this morning when doing research online that I wanted to share with everyone. The name of the article is 3 Great Jobs for Stay at Home Moms by Matthew Lord. I hope everyone finds it interesting.

Childcare costs are astronomical these days which leaves the dilemma of whether a mom should join the 9-5 work force and pay for daycare, or whether you should stay at home with your kids. Well hopefully this article will teach you how to have the best of both worlds so you can stay at home and make money with these jobs for stay at home moms.

While looking around the Internet I'm sure you will come across many opportunities that sound pretty good, but they are either too expensive or just sound too good to be true and raise awareness on your part. Whatever the case may be I believe I have a couple of suggestions that would be ideal jobs for stay at home moms. These jobs for stay at home moms do require some work however, do not think you will be able to sit at a computer and magically have thousands rolling into your bank account, it's just not going to happen!

Without further ado here are three legitimate jobs for stay at home moms, and the business models for them.

1. Write an ebook about something you are interested in. This could be anything you could think of from cooking, gardening, sports, fashion, and countless other niches that you could pursue. After writing the ebook endorse it with private label rights and sell it on ebay for about nine dollars. This is a surefire way to make some sales and eventually build a lucrative business.

2. Become an affiliate marketer. This is something that anyone can do if you are willing to take the time and put the energy into it. Ideally you need to own your own website, but you do not have to. These are excellent jobs for stay at home moms and can provide a nice income if done correctly.

3. Become a freelance writer. Now I must admit that I have never personally tried this one so I cannot guarantee results, however I have heard that it works quite well if you are a good writer. People will often want press releases or articles for there websites, yet do not have time to do it themselves, so they hire someone to do it for them.

I believe these are three creative ways to make money online and provide excellent jobs for stay at home moms. Good luck and I wish you the best!
