Gomez Peer - Follow Up

I have been a member of Gomez Peer since September of 2007. On average I am making about $20 to $45 a month ($45 is a max amount in a single month). I know that this does not seem like a lot of money, but basically the only thing I am doing is letting my computer run. Thats it, nothing more. Gomez is also in the process of restructuring their compensation rate, but for right now here is what I have learned.

Active Gomez PEERs can earn cash in two ways:

Processing Time Payments:

You can earn Processing Time payments at a rate of $0.0005 per minute.

Referral Bonuses. Even if you are not selected to be an Active PEER, you can always earn money by referring friends.

To earn referral bonuses, your friends must:

Complete the online application form and indicate the referrer's valid username.
Have the application approved by Gomez;
Download, install and run the Gomez PEER;
Be selected as an Active Gomez PEER.

Total earnings for Processing Time and Referral Bonuses accumulate and are credited on a monthly basis and then paid to your Paypal, Moneybookers or Alipay accounts. I have received a payment to my Paypal account each month I have been a member so I can tell you they are for real.

If you are interested visit Gomez's program details page for more information and instructions on how to participate in our new incentive program.

SFI EyeEarn

I have been a member for SFI for a while now (2003 to be exact). First let me say the SFI is free to join and they will never charge you to sign up. My focus with SFI is EyeEarn and here is why:

I get paid to drive my car and wear T-shirts, using the special version of SFI's Network Builder Program. EyeEarn allows you to build a lucrative residual income stream by participating in a personal advertising network (which means you wear a T-Shirt with their logo or you put a sticker on your car).

What is EyeEarn? EyeEarn is a new global advertising network that taps into simple, easy forms of advertising that everyone can do while they're going about their day. No experience is needed to participate.

How do you make money?Once you've activated your EyeEarn account, you'll start to receive a portion of all revenues generated by the worldwide EyeEarn network. In other words, you'll share in the results of your own advertising, PLUS the results of everyone elses advertising.

Again there's no cost to register, however you will not start earning until you purchase the $20 starter kit, which includes

- EyeEarn T-Shirt (in your choice of sizes)
- (3) EyeEarn Car Banners
- (100) EyeEarn X-Cards (business cards basically)
- (20) EyeEarn Mini-Labels
- A detailed guide and complete directions

Honestly I love my T-Shirt so it was worth the $20 all by itself. If you want to learn more click here.

Are You Blogging

I have been receiving a number of e-mails asking blogging and how it can help you earn money online. Therefore, I thought that maybe everyone would be interested in hearing about 'Blogging'.

I went to Blogger.com and opened a free account and it took less then 15 minutes to get started. Here is how simple it was...

I opened a free account by entering a valid email address, username and password.
I choose a pre made template. (For those of you who are HTML savvy you are able to access the HTML coding and host the page your self)
The next step is to add and arrange my page elements. I was able to add elements from various menus and complete my page quickly.
Then write your post.

I made sure that in the settings section of my account I have selected yes to 'Let search engines find your blog' and now they will include my blog in Google Blog Search and ping Weblogs.com.
Blogger.com has devoted an entire section of their help center to helping you Promote your Blog as well. They have great suggestions on how to optimize your blog so that it is picked up by the search engines.

I found Blogger.com very user friendly and full of some great information however it is not your only choice. There are tons of free blog sites available. Here are just a few...

www.sampa.com
www.ExperienceProject.com
www.blogstream.com
www.blogged.com

Keep in mind that it is also a great way to stay connected to friends and family as well. You can post pictures, send each other messages and stay on top of what is going on in each others lives. I hope you give this a try. It can be a valuable tool for all of your online endeavors.

Online-Data-Entry-Jobs

I have been reviewing Online-Data-Entry-Jobs now for about a month because there was so much information on the site, it took me that long to get through it all. The owner of the site, with whom I have spoken too, has been scammed so money times trying to work at home, that she has made a point to avoid becoming the person that runs the scam and welcome my review. So here is what I found.

I am going to start off by saying this site trains you to succeed online, does not just throw you out there and say follow these rules. You will be trained on the following things if you join the program:

Certified Typist
Certified Numeric Operator (10 Key)
Certified Data Processor
Certified Online Proofreader
Professional Resume' Writer
Certified Notary Public (Optional Off-Line Course)
Started a Successful Off Line Secretarial Business
Create Residual Income from Worldwide Data Entry
Article Typing
Receiving Assignments for Data Research (Many members have to turn down offers)
Getting Transcript Data Entry Assignments with Ease
Doing Response Typing for Fun and Making Some Extra Money.

I am going to cover each topic for earning money and explain it to you so there are no surprises:

Article Typing - This section cover how to start a blog, step by step and adding advertisements to it. It gives you resources on where you can find articles, how to advertise and how to create a ClickBank Blog so you can sell other people stuff and make a commission. I have been using the techniques in this section and the visitors to my blog have doubled.

Data Collection - Take Surveys, the site lists over 300 companies that will pay you to try their products and then answer a survey about what you thought. I guess survey may not be the best word, maybe I would go with consumer Studies because it is not just mindlessly answering questions. I have not signed up for them all but if you are into surveys this is a good list and the site includes tips on getting more surveys and how to complete them efficiently.

Data Proofreader - This section will show you all the steps you will need to take to become a trained, certified proofreader and start receiving assignments. There is a fee associated to the certification.

Outsource Data Operator - First you are trained on the 3 Requirements to get assignments:

Typing Speed
10 Key Knowledge
Email/Fax Support

Then the site helps you build a professional resume.

Once you have mastered these skills, you are have access to a complete list of real companies that will hire you with and without benefits.

Response Typist - As a response typist you will make short posts to forums, blogs, and any sites that need content. They have a complete list of forums, blogs and review sites that pay you to post your views, thoughts, articles, pictures to their sites, and in return they will pay you for every post

Secretarial Home Business - This section shows you how to start a secretarial business from start to finish, from start up costs, to the equipment you need, to being organized, writing a professional resume and finally getting clients.

WorldWide Data Entry - The affiliate program, you knew they had to have one. Basically they show you how to get a clickbank account and advertise other peoples products for a percentage of the sale price. Again though they have great resources for advertising without have to pay so it is pretty good.

The site also offers Posting Tools (many are free) to advertise your web site, affiliate link, online business or blog and typing training.

Thats it, overall I would give the program an A- and think it is worth the $48.00 that I had to spend to join. If you are interested in trying them out click here.

Surf Junky Scam

Surf Junky (www.surfjunky.com) is a service that lets you earn money simply by browsing the web. The information on the site is vague to say the least, but from the way I read it, basically you open a web page and allow their autosurf to run and they you 0.45 an hour and when you reach the $25 minimum payment, they send you a check.

So the question I had was, can you earn money just by having a browser running? And the most important question: will surf junky actually pay you, or is it all a scam?

The answer is that you're probably not going to make any money this way because it doesn't appear that Surf Junky is very good about paying anyone. Apparently they have a habit of cancelling accounts that approach the $25 minimum payment.

The best part of it all is that if you sign up with them, you have to give them your e-mail address and authorized them to send you spam.

So you leave your browser up all day making them money, when you get close to payout, they cancel your account and accuse you of cheating and you get an inbox full of spam.

There are plenty of legitimate ways to make a few bucks on the Internet, please note I did note say get rich or become a millionaire, but ways to make a few extra bucks.

Candle making work at home

Candle making is a popular work at home business with the average maker making more than $30,000 a year. Since most makers start off making candles as a hobby, there are hobby kits can be purchased online or at local craft stores. A hobby kit for making candles will include everything you need to make your first candle and instructions. Making candles can be time consuming but if you are artistic, it can be very lucrative home based business.

The cost of starting a candle making business can be expensive depending on the type of candles and the location. The basic requirements are:

1. A place for melting wax and making the candles
2. Storage space for materials and a cool storage space for your completed candles.
3. Double broiler and other utensils to melt and blend the waxes, wax additives in the mold. Wax is highly volatile and can catch fire easily, so it should be heated only in a double broiler. Fire extinguishers should be kept close for safety reasons.
4. Supplies for starting a candle making business are wax slabs or sheets, colors, stearic acid, wicks, lead, clay, release agents (silicon), containers.

Due to competition selling candles can be difficult. Successful candle makers use the following techniques to be successful:

1. Initially make only a few types of candles, which sell well during the holidays like Christmas. There will be some trial and error in finding the perfect candle to sell.
2. Develop exclusive candles, which are customized to match your potential customer
3. Candles can be sold at local craft fairs, flea markets, Local retailers (if made to their specifications), Salons and real estate agents. Some companies may also purchase in bulk or sell on commission basis.
4. Custom candles may sell well if you have your own website or on auction websites like eBay, Overstock or even Amazon. Pictures of exclusive candles can also be sent to catalog companies.

My Power Mall

I received an e-mail today asking me to review MyPowerMall here is what I know about them:

MyPowerMall is an online shopping mall with 1,000 stores and millions of products. It has a 9-tier commission structure with really good potential earnings and is FREE to join. The program includes great training materials and marketing tools. People are invited to have their own FREE online Power Mall. All they do is shop and then invite others to have their own FREE Mall. As people shop for things they are going to buy anyway, everyone receives a % of the shopping rebates.

Is My Power Mall A Scam? That is the question at hand.

Lets analysis this question.

1. My Power Maill is free to join and you are not required be on any autoship. My Power Mall can never scam you any money since it does not collect any money from you.

2. If you take a good look at the Power Mall you will see that there are a lot of products and merchants in the Retail Mall, even famous brand like Apple and Citibank are in it.

3. If you on the links to buy a product or service, you are taken immediately to the merchant website for the order and purchase. You paid the merchant directly, thus your money never go thru My Power Mall.

With three facts and the fact that a friend of mine earned $29.83 in commissions from her normal shopping happens, I would have to say that My Power Mall is not a scam.

If you are interested in trying My Power Mall for free (the only requirement is that you make one online purchase a month) click here

www.processathome.com

I received the follow e-mail today:

I was sent to a link for a company that processes rebates. It offers one on one help getting started or something, but costs $197 to join. I was really thinking about trying this since I am having financial trouble due to some personal family issues, and I really need something that doesn't take ALOT of time, but can generate some extra cash from home. I don't want to have to work out of the home away from my daughter if at all possible. We suffer enough financially, I don't want her to suffer any from being away from me. Here is the info I have on this company:

www.processathome.com
Processing at home for up to 15.00 per rebate.
Rebate Certificate Program

My response to the e-mail is as follows:

I completely understand why the "Process Rebates at Home" offers sound like a great deal to anyone looking to work from home. They say that you can process rebates at home & earn $15.00 for each rebate that you process or complete.

I am sorry to say that it is nothing more than "Affiliate Marketing" work. You will not be hired by company to process rebates and you will not receive assignments to complete and then get paid by the piece.

So... let me save you the $97 (Non-Certified Program) or the $197 it takes to join the Rebate Processor Certification Program.

All you have to do is sign up for a free Clickbank.com account, find a product that you want to sell. Place an ad to sell the product and in that ad, state that you will give them a rebate of $5.00, $8.00, $15.00 or whatever amount you want to give them just for purchasing the product from you.

When you receive the commission for selling the product, you then return or "rebate" the $5.00, $8.00, $15.00 or whatever and you keep the difference. You just got paid for "processing a rebate".

Do you feel that information is worth $197? I sure didn't consider it worth the money when I paid for it. But I found another problem with this idea of Rebate Processing. If somebody wants to return their product and I have found a number of the products do get returned, they will get the full selling price refunded back to them, including your commission, but they do not return the rebate that you gave them so now you have actually lost the $5.00, $8.00, $15.00 or whatever rebate.

So even if you do want to process rebates and try to use this to sell your affiliate marketing items, please note it is risky and you could lose more money they make.

EBay - Takes the Oridinary and Earns you Money

I have posted two auctions this week, nothing special about them, but I thought the would test the winehuggers out in the free market and see if I can do better than $2.00 a piece for them.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230240044854&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=013

I am a firm believe that it never hurts to try and if it does not work, then I will return them for payment, either way I get paid. I am just trying to figure out which way will get me the most value for the work that I have done.

In addition when I ordered the beads, I ordered the wrong size so I have 2 pounds of beads that I can not use for my wine huggers, so I designed a set of amethyst jewelry (necklace and earrings).

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230240041393&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=013

No I am not posting these to get someone to buy them, I am posting them, so you can see that sometimes the stuff you have laying around your house and not using can be sold and you can make a profit. I can not post my other auctions so you can see how they turned out, but here is my feedback from my buyers:

sorry I took so long to leave feedback my grand-daughter just loves it thanks

I can tell you that Conniedupree, I got sick with the flu and it took over 3 weeks for me to get her item shipped, but you see the feedback. It is because, I sent her a free item similar to the one she bought and refunded a portion of her shipping cost. It was my fault. E-Bay is all about customer service, if you keep good ratings you can earn a substantial income.

New Mass Mailer Virus - A little off subject, but I think it is Important

The “IT Services Alert Notification” issued an new alert yesterday that cautions users about a mass-mailing worm which arrives via e-mail here is the information:

Subject Line: Mail Server Report
Body of E-Mail:

“Mail Server Report

Out firewall determined the e-mails containing worm copies are being sent from your computer.

Nowadays it happens from many computers, because this is a new virus type (network worms).

Using the new bug in the Windows, these viruses infect the computer noticeably. After the penetrating into the computer the virus harvests all the e-mail addresses and sends the copies of itself to these e-mail addresses.

Please install updates for worm elimination and your computer restoring.

Best regards,
Customer support service”

The virus offers updates to stop your computer from being used to spread mass-mailing worms, but in fact infects the PC with a mass-mailing worm, known as Warezov.w or W32/Warezov.X and downloads additional worms from a specific website on the Internet.

Typically, a mass-mailer arrives on a computer via e-mail. In some cases, the infected attachment can start automatically. In other cases, the system is infected when the user opens the attachment. When a typical mass-mailer is activated, it installs itself to the system and creates a start up key for itself in the registry. It then stays active in the system's memory. While active, the mass-mailer searches for specific files (HTML files for example) on all available hard disks for e-mail addresses. Finally, it connects to an available mail server and sends itself to all the addresses it has found.

Dataprocessors.org

I have received a number of e-mail regarding dataprocessors.org. I signed up in January with them to test their service. Shortly after joining, I was informed that they had changed their pay schedule and instead of getting paid $5.00 for each site, I would only be paid $2.00. A couple days later their web site went down and all e-mail was returned as undeliverable. This made me very suspicion, because I was still receiving my daily assignments. If they were having server problems, wouldn't the e-mails with assignments stop too. At that point I listed them as a scam. Since then I have receive numerous e-mails from people that upgrade and here is one:

Dear Bytemi,

I join dataprocessors.org on December 17,2007. I upgraded and became a goldmember in January. In order to get paid, you have to be a goldmember for 60 days and earn more than $100. Of course there is no way to track my earnings, so I kept a spreadsheet and all the of the assignment complete e-mails. I was suppose to get paid in the beginning of March to my paypal account. Since I have not received payment yet, I wrote them a couple e-mails, which have all been ignored. I no longer receive my daily assignments and I feel my chances of getting paid are slim to none. Please warn the readers of your site, that they are a scam and will not pay.

Thank you,
Kathy

So if you are considering joining Dataprocessors.org, don't, it is a scam, you will do the work and follow the directions, but you will not get paid.

I would remove the previous posts regarding dataprocessors, but they have comments and I do not want to deter people from leaving comments by deleting them. Comments, good, bad or indifferent are always welcome, however, if you include an e-mail address, home address or phone number, I will not allow the post to be live to protect your privacy.
